Simple Dwelling is an independent Australian architecture publication documenting thoughtful, architect-designed homes through film.

Founded in Melbourne, we explore the ideas shaping contemporary residential architecture: how a home responds to its site and climate, and how light, materials and landscape define its experience. Each feature is guided by the central architectural idea behind the project.

We believe simplicity is not an aesthetic, but a discipline, where clarity of intent, restraint in form and material, and careful attention to what a home genuinely needs. Our work is shaped by five recurring principles: Restraint, Form, Space, Materials and Landscape, all of which respond to place.
